If you are looking to adopt a rescued bouvier, please go to the Adoption page and complete the on-line Adoption Application.

If you know of a bouvier in need of assistance, please go to the Adoption page and click on "What to do".

Ontario Bouvier Rescue is always in need of dedicated volunteers. If you are able to donate some of your time to fostering a rescued dog, transporting or grooming a rescued dog please go to the Contact page.

Donations of food, blankets, grooming supplies or "gently used" collars and leashes are always greatly appreciated.  Cash donations are always greatly needed to help offset veterinary costs - there is a secure PayPal donation link just below.  Many thanks for any and all support!!.

If you don't rescue, don't breed.

Visit the various links to other bouvier sites, enjoy your stay and come back often!

A Little About Me...

I began doing All-Breed Rescue some 18 years ago and over the years have placed over 400 dogs in loving "forever" homes in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, NWT, NY, NH, IL, and PA.   After getting my first Bouvier, I received a call from a local vets office regarding a bouvier brought in for euthanasia - and Bouvier Rescue began.

I am a self-run, not-for-profit rescue dedicated to helping Bouviers in need.   My goal is to rehabilitate dogs with sound temperament, give them the proper training or socialization that they need so that they can go from unwanted dogs to "canine good citizens".

What I Do.. .

When a dog is accepted into Rescue there is a lot of energy put into each dog.  All rescues are crate trained, housebroken, groomed, taught manners, socialized, tested for reactions to children/ other dogs, introduced to riding in a vehicle and receive some basic obedience training prior to placement.

I provide foster care, veterinary attention as necessary, evaluate temperament  and spay/neuter each dog.  When all this is done, I then match each dog with a home that is suitable for that individual dog.  This can often take months and it is very costly.  An adoption fee is charged for the dog and followups are ongoing to monitor the success of the placement.

I provide referrals/information to other bouvier rescue groups, and I keep a list of potential adopters.

I belong to several All-Breed Rescue organizations and provide assistance to other purebreds getting to their respective breed rescue organizations by fostering or providing transportation.

Why I Do It...

Rescue involves a lot of time and effort.  As an unpaid volunteer, this means that time is taken away from my loved ones, my dogs, my friends and myself.  Rescue is very stressful, and often very heartbreaking.  If I never placed any of the Bouviers for whom I provided care, I would not be able to continue.  Sending a Bouvier to a Great home gives me the energy to continue.  I do it because I care deeply about this breed and because I feel that I can make a difference

I support spay/neuter.
