zAugust 28/01 "Abby" is a lovely 1-1.5 yro female (as of yet unspayed) black w/natural ears and docked tail. This little girl (I use the
term loosely as she's a big girl!) has had a very rough beginning - she loves people, is great w/kids and is willing to be friendly with other dogs. At 7 mos old she was hit by a car and then dumped at
the HS by her abusive owners because she kept running away. The HS had to remove her right eye and then adopted her out to a family that had absolutely no idea about a bouvier. She has been
running free at a horse farm as a so-called guard dog - now she's chasing the neighbours cattle and ducks (but she is great with the horses). All of the complaints that the owners have about her are
pretty typical of a young bored bouvier - doesn't always listen, won't come when called unless it suits her!, pulls on the leash and running to the neighbours farm. They have been warned if she is on the
neighbours farm again, they will shoot her - so the owners have turned her over to rescue. Apparently she loves to go for rides in the car, is good in the house so far, is very afraid of a crate (so I have
her in a large ex-pen in my kitchen which she doesn't seem to mind). 'Abby' needs a very special home where the people will understand her need for attention and training and who will not mind a 'one eyed'
dog that still needs some help adjusting. She also has a slight limp (was told that she was hit by the car mid-flank and dragged) in the left rear leg - she will be checked by my vets. Pictures

. Sept 14/01 Abby has gone to her 'forever' home!! Nancy and Scott were very patient in
getting to know Abby, they came several times to visit and to spend time with her while she was healing and was spayed. She just loves her new 'mom & dad', she even sleeps in her new little 'skin
sister's' room! Abby is learning to trust men again, learning that she isn't a lap dog! and playing in the pool with Devon in the backyard. Abby is Nancy and Scott's first bouvier, they have had
schnauzers in the past - what a perfect match they are!! It's so nice to see Abby so happy, settled and well loved. |
