May 13/03 This is Ariel - she is a 3 yro brindle spayed female. Ariel is grossly overweight - 101 lbs!!! and s/b approx 75 lbs!! She was severely matted when she
arrived her so had to be completely shaved down. Despite her 'large' size she is very active, outgoing and has no concept of how wide she is. According to her previous owners she is bossy, guardy and doesn't
like to be alone (apparently suffers from separation anxiety). In all honesty, I haven't seen any of this - she does bark at the door, which is appropriate and 'bumps' the other dogs to play but no
dominance. I have left Ariel alone on several occasions and it wasn't a problem although she did bark when I first left.
Ariel is good with other dogs including small ones, loves to go for walks
and car rides and is exceptionally bright. She will need an owner willing to devote the time and attention to her that she craves and who is smart enough to stay one step ahead of her.

23/03 Ariel has gone home!! Liz (Ivan's mum) referred her brother-in-law who had recently lost his GSD. It was love at first sight when John came to visit!! John reports that Ariel
(now named Ari) sleeps on the bed with him, 'guards' the backyard from numerous different critters, goes walking with her new 'dad' every day and travels with him.
June 20/03 John reports that
Ari is down in weight by approx 10 lbs and is up to biking for 10 mins with him every day. |
