Sept 9/01  This is Benson - he is an approx 2 yro (will be neutered Tues Sept 11/01) male Bichon/Terrier X.  He is utd on shots, microchipped, housetrained and crate trained. Benson is very active and exceptionally bright - he learns things very quickly, has learned to 'high five' and shake a paw.  He is very afraid of men when he first meets them and will continue to be very wary until he becomes familiar.  Benson loves women when properly introduced and will try to do tricks to get a treat - children frighten him.  The ideal home for Benson would be a single woman with no small children and lots of time and attention to give Benson the time he needs to adjust.  In the past Benson has not received much socialization so he 'startles' at anything new.  For further info pls contact Margo Illing at pitabouv@sympatico.ca or Leslie Remenek of Small Paws Rescue Canada leslieremenek@home.com

Oct 27/01  Benson has gone to his 'forever' home.  He now has a Bichon brother to play with - 'Popcorn' even has the same temperamental issues as Benson - and his new mom and dad just love him.  They came to visit and Benson is so very happy!!
