Mar 23/02 This is Bunny, she is approx 2 yro. She has natural ears and a docked tail. Bunny came from a puppy mill where she was used for
breeding. When she came into rescue she was in horrible condition - her whole backend was bald and covered with scabs and her ears were so swollen with infection that they were closed off completely. She has
been treated with Revolution (just in case of mange), has had numerous baths to get her clean and to soothe her skin from the severe flea bite dermatitis. She has been on antibiotics for a vaginal discharge
and for the ear infections and has been wormed. Apr 17/02 Bunny was finally healthy enough to be spayed today - they have flushed her ears to get the remaining 'crud' out so that they can
heal. They were able to see the eardrum/membrane and they are intact so she will regain her hearing - the swelling is down considerably so her ears are healing. A full blood profile was run to check on
her internal organs - considering her condition, they were all in the normal range. She has a strong heart and lungs and tested clear for heartworm. Apr 25/02 Bunny is coming
along by leaps and bounds!! She's playful, very loving - although still somewhat shy with strangers at first - and seems to be good with other non-dominant dogs (including small dogs). There is quite a
bit of new hair growth on her hind end and all the scabs are finally gone. I have been applying a homeopathic remedy called 'Colloidal Silver' to her vulva and inner thighs (where the skin was thickened like
'elephant skin') and it's softening up with new hair growth. Her hearing is improving and she has a great appetite. Bunny is learning about treats and will sit for a cookie. Her leash manners are improving
and she really enjoys going for a ride in the car. Her shots will be done next week and she will be microchipped at the same time. The ideal home for Bunny would be as an only dog (with access to
playmates) where she will get the nurturing and attention that she has lacked for most of her life - someone who is not gone for extended periods of time, an experienced dog person, who is very patient, to
continue with her training and socialization. Bunny is now housetrained and crate trained and loves to just be near you. I have not been able to test her with children but would prefer to place her where
there are no small children. Bunny needs to have a 'forever' home where she is the centre of attention - when she finally bonds with someone, she will give not only her heart but her soul as well. For
