Picture of Crispin

"Crispin".  While at the Scarborough Animal Centre on Thursday, I saw  what was, according to them, "an 11 yro miniature poodle" - shots not given  because he was too old and would be euthanized on Monday.  I had other  opinions about this dog so I 'pulled' him from the shelter and brought him  home.  He was severely matted, covered in feces and urine and most of his  teeth are black and rotten.

After shaving him down, I discovered that he is probably around 5-6 yro and  what I thought to be a Bichon Frise.  I contacted Robin Pressnall of Small  Paws Rescue, sent her the 'before' pics (I ran out of film before I could  get 'after' pics) for evaluation.  Small Paws Rescue is a wonderful rescue  organization that rescues Bichons from Puppy Mills and then rehomes them.  They have affiliates across the US and are just trying to form a rescue  group here in Canada.  Robin forwarded my request on to the Canadian group  and a representative from their group immediately travelled to my house on  Sunday to retrieve this poor little dog.  Great news, they have a waiting  list of potential adopters, and after Scooter is vet checked and neutered he  will go to his new "forever" home!!  More pics coming.
