July 23/01  These two are littermate sisters - they are bouvier/wolfhound crosses, 10-11 months old.  Dorrie is black with natural ears and tail, weighs approx 55 lbs - probably top out at approx 65-70 lbs, is very 'needy'.  She is somewhat insecure - needs a lot of attention, loves to cuddle, very playful, is very unsure of small children.  Carly is black with brindle muzzle and legs with natural ears and tail, weighs approx 60 lbs - probably top out at 70-75 lbs, she is the more dominant of the two, very friendly and outgoing, likes children. August 18/01  Dorrie is not dealing with the 'rescue situation' at all - she is a very needy dog and is feeling very stressed by being in the HS for two months and a month in rescue.  I contacted my dear friends, Kate and Ralph (they had recently lost their bouvier, Jacob, and their other dog Caesar was pining badly) - Jacob was 15 yrs old when he passed to the Bridge and they were finding it very difficult to even consider looking at another dog - I asked them to foster Dorrie for me. Dorrie desperately needs a family situation, major socialization and love.  Ralph, Kate and their son Lucas came down to meet Dorrie and to make sure that Caesar and her would get along - they raced and played in the yard - so they agreed to foster her for a short period of time. They borrowed a crate and took Dorrie home.  Dorrie has just blossomed!!

Sept 2/01  Kate, Ralph, Lucas and the 'Dorky Duo' came down for a visit.  They have unanimously agreed that Dorrie is home to stay!!  Ralph surprised Kate with the adoption of Dorrie for her birthday - we had a lovely dinner and a birthday cake for Kate!  Caesar and Dorrie are in love - Caesar has stop pinning for his buddy Jacob, is losing weight and is so very happy - Dorrie has learnt some new tricks - rollover taught by Lucas, and to go give kisses by her new dad, Ralph. Dorrie has put on weight, has even grown an inch, her hair is growing by leaps and bounds and she is very protective of her new mom Kate. She just loves Ralph and her new big brother, Lucas.  A perfect match!!!  Maluf, you chose well.
