Wednesday afternoon, Fes finally got to meet his new mom.  After many long weeks and many, many emails, the arrangements were finally made and "She"arrived!

LTC Nancy Burton made the long trek up here with her friend Lana, from Washington DC to finally meet her new "son" in person.  After spending the afternoon (and incidentally the evening, thank you for the lovely dinner!!) getting acquainted, the adoption was finalized.  Nancy arrived to pick up Fes bright and early Thursday morning to begin their trip home.

Fes has now been renamed "Doc" (as in "Just what the 'Doc'tor ordered", Nancy had surgery on her foot and was still in a cast). He goes home to an elderly (15 yr.) bouv"sister" and a senior citizen cat.  Nancy hopes to begin his training as a Search and Rescue Dog shortly - maybe someday the headlines will read "Rescue dog makes good - saves little girl!!"
