Jan 5/02 This is Katie. She is an approx 8-10 yro Wheaton X and weighs 30 lbs. Katie was severely matted and filthy when she arrived here and had to be shaved down - with MANY thanks to Sonya Sparling who donated her grooming time. Katie appears to be deaf and is suffering from malnutrition - she is very thin and needs to regain her strength. Blood panels will be drawn over the next couple of weeks, x-rays show a fairly normal size heart and no congestion in the lungs. She is a very sweet dog, somewhat disoriented at the moment but starting to eat really well. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Katie, pls contact Margo Illing pitabouv@sympatico.ca


	Mar 111/02 Pls send up a little prayer for my dear sweet Katie, the very senior Wheaton X - she came here to me Jan 5/02 in very sad shape but with much care and love she seemed to improve. Over the last week her health failed and she began to bleed internally - on Saturday, the decision was made to relieve her suffering. Nothing more could be done for her, they thought she had a tumour in her stomach that had ruptured. I wanted so badly to save this little dog, she had been through so very much - she was incredibly sweet and loving - I know I gave her a couple of months of warmth, care, good food and mostly lots of love - but somehow I feel like I let her down - I wanted to give her so much more. I held her and told her what a good girl she was and now my house seems so empty without her. Give all your oldsters a big hug from me tonight and send a little love for my Katie now gone.
