K.C. is a 4 year old neutured male Bouvier with docked tail but not cropped ears.  He was found running in the Keswick/Lake Simcoe area at the age of approximately 1.

He is at that stage of strutting his stuff and has developed a protective/ aggressive manner. He has become more than we can handle and I am looking for a home for him - somewhere he can be appreciated and be able to run free, have someone home with him during the daytime as he is very paranoid about thunderstorms, loud noises, trucks, lightening, even when I get my camera out the thought of the flash scares him away.  Our vet has prescribed a mild sedative and I do have to use it to help K.C. get through some of the storms. Up to this point we have had my eldest daughter living home daily but she has moved away and now there is no one here during the day.  He wreaks havoc within the house if a storm comes up and we aren't here for him.   From his picture you can see he is truly a beautiful specimen, excellent hearing, gentle with a loud bark and aggressive protective side and very strong.  He is aggressive toward other dogs (this could just be posturing) - I sense that K.C. would be happier to be the only dog in the family.

If you think this dog would be a great addition to your home, please contact Ali at ester.is@cogeco.ca

Ontario Bouv Rescue has not met or rated this boy.  Persons interested need to contact the owner directly.  Ontario Bouv Rescue is assisting in rehoming only.

Jan 18/03  Kathleen rec'd the below email from the owners of K.C. - seems that they have decided to keep him afterall....

Good News as K.C. has settled down remarkably well since before Christmas.  He seems much happier and content.  At the moment I would ask that you remove his name and photo from the Bouvier rescue site - we are undecided if giving him away is the right answer for him. I know there are lots of other dogs in immediate need.  We will revisit the need to place K.C. in another home at a later time.

Thanks so much for all your help.  The situtation with the family that almost took him on Dec. 7, the lead up/disappointment and all that process was rather upsetting. So for now we'll just sit tight and see how he handles being alone when "storm" season comes along.  It may be that we need to find him a home where someone is home all day. We will do our best to do what is best for K.C.

Good luck with your work with the dogs.  You are one in a million!
