aJuly 3/01  "Sheba" is a 3 yro spayed female, with natural ears (that even sometimes stand up by themselves) and docked tail.  She is a smaller bouvier, black brindle, somewhat overweight - weighs 87 lbs, should probably weigh 75 lbs - (will be checked for Hypothyroid) - is up to date on shots and is heartworm negative.  Sheba was turned over to rescue by her owners of only two weeks (the original owner was ill and could not care for her) because she apparently did not get along with their female lab (she will be tested for ability to get along with other dogs/kids etc) and they were moving.  Sheba is very stressed at the moment, she just doesn't understand why she has been shifted around.  She is very friendly, active and loving.  Pictures coming. For further info  pls contact  Margo Illing at pitabouv@sympatico.ca...

July 14/01  Sheba has gone home!!  She has gone to live in a very busy teenage household with lots of activity and a new 'mom & dad'.  Sue and Phil are new to bouviers and with their very busy household they needed a very special 'type' of bouvier.  Sheba is a 'social butterfly' and truly believes that everyone comes to visit her, so I contacted them to see if they would be interested.  Sue visited last weekend and this weekend brought her husband, Phil, to meet Sheba and to spend some time with her.  It was definitely a match!!  Sometime in the near future, Sheba will begin her obedience classes and I'm sure that she will do well.  Good luck to all!

I have been meaning to send you an update for such a long time, but time is always short!

Sheba is doing great.  Her weight has been steady as she's on the thyroid pills (1x per day) and a low cal food.

She has completely settled in here and we all continuously enjoy her company immensely!  Her personality is a plus most days.  She does have a naughty day once in a while but we just have to laugh and get on with it the next day.

Phil got her nicely trained to walk (and not run away) in the park without her leash as she was being quite aggressive with other dogs she came across if she was leashed and they weren't.  So, to that end she gets plenty of exercise walking with us and playing with other dogs we come across in the park.

Her hair is completely grown back in and I laughed so hard the other night when she got herself into a bush of burs and it took us at least an hour to pick them out of her hair.  She wasn't impressed with that part of it, but we managed with a few treats in hand.

I have had her in to be bathed a few times and she is getting used to that also.

I have attached a photo for you to update your website -- isn't she cute!  We recently got a digital camera so I can send you more photos as I get them downloaded.

Well, in closing, Sheba and us are doing great.  She's been a joy to have so far and we can't imagine life without her.  We are all very happy with our decision to adopt Sheba.  There are absolutely no regrets!

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you, if you have time.
